Az ünnepi alkalmakhoz köthető dísztányérok képen látható változata egészen sötétbarna alapmázt kapott, erre festette rá a mester a díszítésként oly gyakran használt virágmotívumokat. A szép dísztányér a Péchy–Kovács-gyűjteménnyel került a múzeum megbecsült darabjai közé.

The entrances/kitchens of the houses in our county were decorated with plates having a special aesthetic role. The plates were potters’ product till the first decade of the 19th century, later they were replaced by ceramics made in factories. The decorative plates hung in the kitchen were made mainly in Sárospatak or in other potter centres in Northern Hungary, in Gömör county or in the region Partium and were sent to the Northern Great Plain from these centres. There are decorative plates related to festive occasions, like the plate presented here. This plate has a dark brown basic glaze, on which the flower motifs were painted. The lively blue forget-me-nots, the lilies of the valley painted with white dots and the yellow tulips are nicely contrasting the dark background. According to the special ornamenting technique, every motif was painted upon the basic glaze with white lead glaze and after that every part was coloured. The wavy line in the middle is a parallel to the shape of the plate’s rim and both together remind the onlooker of a flower. The plate came to the museum with the collection Péchy-Kovács to become an appreciated item.
